If you live in MN you know that our summer and fall this past year were anything but ideal. The summer was wet, the fall was cold- not the weather we are used to. The morning of Karina & Phillips wedding was cloudy. We all hoped and prayed for sun and watched the clouds by the hour.
The rain soon came and stayed almost all day. Not ideal for a wedding day but man- these photos make up for it. There is nothing better for a photographer than an over cast day (except maybe an unplugged ceremony).
Despite the weather the day was perfect. They took pictures outside inspite of the rain and looking back on these pictures now you would never know that it was cold and wet.
The wedding flowers were made up of mostly assorted eucalyptus greens (Seeded and silver dollar). We added a focal Protea and hanging amaranthus to the brides to make it pop a little - still on trend with her boho wedding.
This wedding may go down in the books as the best first look. These two were serious goals.
The tears continued through the ceremony where the Bride & Groom were married by the Bride's brother in law. The ceremony was thoughtful and full of love.
For the ceremony floral we did an elegant arch swag that included a king protea, spray roses, amaranthus, campanula, and eucalyptus. The same arch piece was later reused on the sweetheart table! We always try and reuse as many pieces as possible!
After the ceremony the party got kicked into high gear with liquid motion slinging drinks in the lower level of the barn. The clouds did eventually open in time for sunset photos and outdoor play! The guests danced the night away and enjoyed not only cupcakes but also cotton candy!
The day turned out beautiful and we loved being able to celebrate with Karina & Philip! We can't wait to be back to Birch Hill Barn!
